Dear Homeschool Mom,
We are excited to announce our Fall Mom’s Retreat. In the past we have had many women tell us they just could not afford to attend because the cost was prohibitive for their one income family. We have worked hard this year to reduce the cost and are experimenting with a new format. The hotels in Indianapolis are very expensive even with special rates so we have found a hotel just 25 miles east of Indianapolis that will give us a rate that is half of the cost in the past. We will have a room there for Friday night fellowship, however, our meetings and luncheon will be held at a local church. This will help us cut the cost of registration. We truly pray that more of you will be able to attend and reap the benefits of the encouragement given by our speakers, the fellowship with other women, and the rest away from the responsibilities of the home.

The Governor of South Carolina awarded Zan the Order of the Palmetto in 1998, the highest honor a civilian can receive.
Zan speaks on a wide variety of homeschooling topics and finds it one of her greatest joys in life to encourage other homeschooling mothers.
Tia Ciferno
Tia Ciferno spent her early years surrounded by music, brothers, and sisters in her Italian/Polish/Russian/German home. Her father played piano and taught his children to appreciate everything from barbershop harmony to musicals to the Kingston Trio. She would sit for hours by the family’s old record player memorizing the words to songs.
As a young bride, Tia attended Dana School of Music with a full scholarship, eventually deciding to major in singing lullabies to their firstborn son, Michael, and to three more babies in the following years.
There at home, the Lord began to craft Tia’s songwriting (and mothering) skills as she grew closer to Him while sorting socks, washing dishes and home-schooling. When her children were older, she knew it was time to begin sharing what she had received within her home, beyond her home. Tia is now a singer, songwriter, author and speaker, who is delighted to be sharing the message of Jesus Christ and also His purposes for our families.
Since the release of her first CD, “Healer of My Heart” in 1997, she has been active traveling and ministering for ladies fellowships, retreats and church services. She has also enjoyed many radio and television opportunities, as well as a journey to American Army bases in Germany and two ministry tours to South Africa in part-nership with Oikos Family Ministries. “Healer of My Heart” was nominated for best Christian Album in the Just Plain Folks Music awards for 2001. She also received the North East Ohio Gospel Music Association “Inspiration Award” in 2004. Tia’s second CD, “Heaven Sent ~Lullabies for Wide Eyes,” was released in 2005.
Her newest recording project, “Legacy of Love” is a collection of songs written to strengthen and celebrate family relationships. It will be finished in May of 2006.
She has also written a book entitled Mom Moments ~ A Daughter’s Journal, which celebrates the goodness of God in the midst of terminal illness.
Tia and her husband, Mike, are still busy with their four children; Michael, Aaron, Anna and Julia, now ages 14 through 25. She is also very involved in her local church, North Mar Christian and Missionary Alliance, where she to leads worship and devotions weekly for a women’s community Bible study.
