24th Annual Home Educators Convention

General Information

Registration

Register for one day or two. When you preregister by March 20, you will receive

your admission name tag, map of downtown parking lots, and additional

information by return mail. By pre-registering, you will receive a discount

and avoid standing in long lines. The IAHE does not accept credit cards.    If,

after pre-registering, you do not receive your name tags before the convention,

please go to the Registration Questions counter upon arrival.

Cancellation Policy

No refunds or adjustments will be made at the convention. Refund requests must

be made in writing and returned with the original admission passes,

postmarked no later than March 20, 2009. All refunds are subject to a $5/person

cancellation fee.   After March 20, no refunds will be given, instead a credit

certificate toward next year’s convention will be issued.

Grandparents

The IAHE wants to encourage grandparents to become knowledgeable about

home education. Therefore, grandparents attending with a paying adult will be

admitted for the discounted rate of $10.00 as a one-time fee. Include the

grandparent’s name on the registration form. A pre-registered grandparent’s

admission pass will be mailed to the accompanying paying adult’s address.

Working Scholarships

The IAHE offers Working Scholarships for those who would be unable to attend

the convention for financial reasons. For more information, please write or call

Cindy at the IAHE office at (317) 467-6244.

Volunteers

Do you have a servant’s heart? There are many opportunities for adults and

teens to minister to others by volunteering some of their time at the convention.

If you are interested, please mark the appropriate line on the registration form.

Thank you.

Exhibit Hall

Many organizations, publishers, and businesses serving the homeschooling

community will be represented, displaying textbooks, teaching materials, and

enrichment aids for on-site examination and purchase. Your convention

registration includes unlimited access to the Exhibit Hall, which will remain

open continuously each day from 8:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Exhibit Hall Passes

An “Exhibit Hall Only” pass is available each day after 2:00 p.m. and is valid for

the day it is obtained. Limiting the hours for “Exhibit Hall Only” passes allows

those who have paid the full convention registration fee the opportunity to shop

in the early hours when crowds are lighter. It also provides shopping time at a

discounted rate for those who do not wish to attend workshops. This pass may

be purchased at the registration booth for $20/person, $25/married couple, and

$10/child ages 4-19. Toddlers three years of age or younger are free but must

be carried or in a stroller.

The Last General Session

Saturday, 5:00 – 6:30 P.M., will be open to all.

Ken Ham, President and Founder of Answers in Genesis-U.S. and the new highly acclaimed Creation Museum will be sharing from his heart

Nursery

A secure, staffed nursery is provided for nursing babies under 24 months of age

so that parents may attend the convention. The baby will be assigned a sitter

upon arrival. If you prefer, you may bring your own sitter who must be at least

14 years old, however, the nursery fee is still applicable. Please submit the full

name of the sitter, including address and telephone number, on a separate sheet

of paper when you register. Since the ICCLOS does not have nursery equipment,

it is necessary for you to provide a port-a-crib, walker, and toys to keep your

baby comfortable. The nursery is closed during the lunch break and immediately

following the last workshop session.

Although babies are not permitted in the workshops, they may accompany

you in the General Sessions and Exhibit Hall.

Wheelchairs

The ICCLOS has a limited number of manual wheelchairs available at no charge

on a first-come, first-served basis.

Audio Taping

All General Sessions and most workshops presented by the featured speakers will

be recorded so that you may share the messages with others long after the

convention.  Recordings will be available at the convention from the Rhino-

Technologies booth across from the registration tables. You may purchase

recordings after the convention by contacting them at:

tapes@rhino-technologies.com

Meals

The ICCLOS does not allow food or beverages to be taken into the facility. You

may purchase lunch at an on-site concession stand or a nearby restaurant. A

map of downtownrestaurants will appear in the Program Book.

Directions

The Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium are located at 100 South

Capitol Avenue, two blocks south of the State Capitol Building in the center of

Indianapolis.

prepared to pay up to $14 for parking depending on the day.
